Bater Electric ltd. is proud to be the largest locally owned electric motor repair and rewind shop in Prince George, all of our staff and owners call the BC North home, and we serve our customers with the best service anyone can ask for. We sell, troubleshoot, and repair almost any electric motor. We have the niche of being the only motor shop in town that deals with small bathroom fans, all the way up to heavy-duty motors (over 1000HP) found in sawmills, pulp mills, and mines.
Founded in 1942 by Art Bater the shop started small and Bater Electric ltd. has grown over the years. In 2019 a small group of local people purchased Bater Electric with the drive to make it a state of the art shop that focuses on small motor repair up to 1000HP. Our equipment and our processes are streamlined to ensure reliability at an economical value.

Changes Since New Ownership
In the past 2 years the new ownership has replaced almost all of the calibrated and test equipment to ensure the repairs and the reporting are industry leading. With this new equipment and repair standards we exceed the requirements of EASA Accreditation and are happy to be one of the few shops in Canada with this level of repair standards.
Extensive Inventory
We carry an extensive on-site inventory of new and rebuilt motors ranging from fractional HP motors up to 300HP in all speeds, voltages, and frame sizes. Bater Electric has the largest variety of inventory in the BC North.
State of the Art Repair Facility
The state of the art repair facility is fully stocked with calibrated top of the line measuring and testing equipment. Our staff have decades of experience in the electro mechanical field and are trained to the highest level in the industry. We are able to take on repair projects of all sizes and complexities using our equipment, procedures, and experience.
Custom Fabrication
Complimenting our repair facility is our on site machine shop. Fully equipped with CNC and manual lathes, mills, saws, presses, and welders. We have the capability to make and repair almost any part. Our onsite machine shop has both manual and CNC capability and our tolerances can be within 2 tenths of a thou.
